THE ATELIER
About Maison Pied
A European atelier devoted to bespoke footwear — where every pair begins with the last, the leather, and the person who will wear it.
OUR APPROACH
Footwear Begins with Fit
Maison Pied was founded on a simple observation: most shoes are made to fit a size, not a foot. The difference between a shoe that fits your size and a shoe that fits your foot is the difference between wearing something and owning it.
Every pair we produce starts with the last — the three-dimensional form that determines how a shoe fits, feels, and ages on your foot. We offer multiple last shapes, each developed over years of fitting experience, because foot shape varies more than size charts suggest.
Our materials are sourced from the same tanneries that supply Europe's oldest shoe houses — Horween, Du Puy, Maryam. We select by hand, inspecting each hide for grain consistency, temper, and character. If a piece doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't enter the atelier.

CONSTRUCTION
How Your Shoes Are Made
Every pair passes through six stages of construction, each performed by hand in our atelier. No shortcuts, no machine-only production.
Last Selection
Your shoe is built on a last that matches your foot shape and chosen silhouette. This determines fit, toe shape, and overall proportion.
Leather Cutting
Each panel is cut by hand from the finest part of the hide. We avoid blemishes, stretch marks, and thin areas — every piece must meet our standard.
Closing & Stitching
Upper panels are stitched together with precise seam allowances. Edges are skived, folded, and hammered for a clean, flat finish.
Lasting & Welting
The upper is pulled over the last and secured. A welt is stitched to the upper and insole, creating the foundation for a resoleable shoe.
Sole Attachment
The sole is stitched to the welt, cork fills the cavity, and a heel stack is built and shaped. Every layer is checked before proceeding.
Finishing
Edges are trimmed, burnished, and waxed. The upper is polished, laces are threaded, and the shoe is checked against the original order specification.
